Diyo is an oil lamp made of clay, with a cotton wick dipped in ghee or oils. During Tihar (Dipawali), small clay diyo is lit in and around the house. Dipawali is a festival of lights, celebrating the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness. The lighting of diyo at home is considered highly auspicious as it brings prosperity and good health.
