Rasgullas are juicy, spongy, soft dumplings of chenna (Indian cottage cheese) soaked in sweet syrup. Rasgulla, also known as Rosogolla, Rasgola, or Rosogola is a South Asian syrupy dessert popular in the Indian subcontinent . Rasgulla is derived from the words ras ("juice") and gulla ("ball"). It is made from ball shaped dumplings of chenna, cooked in a light sugar syrup. This is done until the syrup permeates the dumplings and become spongy. In Nepal, Rasgulla is popular under the name Rasbari. Rasgulla is the ideal dessert that can be taken after meals.
